19th century passata bowl - €300.00

€300.00

19th century Passata bowl from Puglia, Italy. Glazed on the interior in a pale yellow/cream colour splattered with green paint. The exterior of these bowls were always left unglazed due to their utilitarian nature. These bowls were typically used to make tomato paste ( hence the name) or to wash vegetables and olives. Each one was made by hand so are truly unique. This particular bowl is full of character from years of use. Could be used as a decorative piece or can be used domestically as still fully functional. Please contact us via our online contact form or DM on Instagram if you would like additional photos/video of this item.

Dimensions: 48cm W (across top) x 24 cm H

Condition: In great original condition. Some minor repairs from over the years and odd chip here and there. In very good condition considering its use and age.

Country: Italy.

Period: 19th century.

Please note: This is an antique item and you should expect to see evidence of wear and potentially some slight 'imperfections', which we believe add to the character and charm of the piece.
